Wasn't this cloud amazing on Saturday? I tried to find a simple explanation for it and only found r-e-a-l-l-y l-o-o-o-n-g ones. If you really want to know more, click on this link http://www.sundog.clara.co.uk/droplets/irid1.htm. Who says science is boring?
Here's another website with lots more neat cloud info: http://www.usatoday.com/weather/resources/basics/resources-sky-color.htm Check it out... there's even a thing called a SunDog!! You'll need to scroll w-a-y down to "If it's not a rainbow, what is it?" and look for the discussion of sundogs and cloud iridescence. The other picture has been "Photoshop'd" but aren't the colors beautiful?
