The Maselli's Mud Dawgs notched two more victories Friday night, lifting their AAA Division leading record to 10 and 1 with two wins over Sonomarin Landscaping.  Strong pitching, hot bats, and great fielding all contributed to the Dawgs' big night on Major Field.

Maselli's began the evening with a one run decision over Sonomarin in the continuation of a 14 - 14 tie from an April 2nd game called due to darkness.  Ryan Torrento opened strong on the mound for the Mud Dawgs striking out two batters and coming up with a grounder that he dished off to A.J. Oglesby for an out at first.  In the bottom half of the inning, Willy Sullivan reached first base on a misplayed fly ball to center field.  Marcus Gabbart advanced Willy to third and Wyatt Painter hit a ball sharply past the Sonomarin third baseman, knocking Sullivan in to give the Mud Dawgs their first victory of the night.  Go Dawgs Go!!!

Maselli's carried the momentum into the second game against Sonomarin exploding for 7 runs in the first.  Sonomarin answered with only one run in the bottom of the inning as Torrento struck out 3 and Johnny Painter fielded a tough fly ball to center.  Torrento's pitching shut down Sonomarin in the second and yielded just two runs in the third.  Maselli's notched 3 runs in the second, and 2 more in the third to pull ahead 12 to 3.  The Mud Dawgs left three stranded in the 4th, as Sonomarin battled back, closing the gap to just two runs with some well placed hits to the gap in right center.  Maselli's scored three in the 5th. Sonomarin countered with four runs to pull within a run, but reliever Luke Durkin's strikeout and Willy Sullivan's well played fly out to deep right field shut down Sonomarin's charge.  The Dawgs put the ball in play three times in the top of the sixth, but were unable to score.  Augie Bundesen turned a double play and caught an infield fly to ice Maselli's victory in the bottom of the inning.

Marcus Gabbart, Wyatt and Johnny Painter, Augie Bundesen, Luke Durkin, AJ Oglesby, Johnny Moon, and Tommy Harmon all logged base hits on the evening with Harmon and teammate Frankie Graham hitting doubles.  Meanwhile, Mud Dawg fans monitored vital signs in the bleachers as the Mud Dawgs battled through their 5th double digit game with a one run decision this season.

Maselli's will face third place Sonomarin for the final time next week.  The Dawgs, with a two game lead, have split with second place Guest and Woo in two lopsided victories. Mud Dawgs Management cautions not to rule out a surge by Neve Roses in the second half of the season so the pennant could come down to the  Maselli/Guest and Woo "rubber match" on Thursday, June 9th also the final game of the AAA season.

Who let the Dawgs out ???  Who.... who.... who... who?
