Scyphers also hit a solo home run, had two RBI and also made a 6-5 double play. Geoff Ogata was the starting pitcher for the A's and struck out five hitters in two scoreless innings of work. The Cubs' Isaac Maximov hit a solo home run and had two RBI. Robert De La Montaigne of the Cubs also hit a solo home run in the fifth.
