FIVE HILLS 2008 SPRING BREAK PRACTICE

Posted by Robert Griffin, Jr on Feb 09 2008 at 04:00PM PST
Hello Five Hills Track & Field Family:

The time has come to work on our craft, re-assess goals, and determine which direction we truly want to concentrate our efforts.

The Five Hills Track Coaches shall be make themselves available at S. C. Lee' Hanke Stadium Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. All athletes have a five hour window to come out and work on their craft.

In the past, we have gained some tremendous achievement during the spring break week. Practice is your watch word, and practice we shall do from hand speed drills to fast feet drills.   Do not come out thinking you shall go straight to your specialty and perform. You shall receive a history class on the best that ever performed your desired event, and the 1000 drills which led to the best performances in the Track & Field world.

Parents you are welcome, we even have a Lane 9 plan for you, whether walking or running.

CAUTION: This is an intense drill week; we make hurdles out of pedestrians. The term quarter miler shall forever be associated with the strongest sprinter in track and field. The distance runner shall never rely upon other to get motivated; a lonely; yet confident runner shall emerge. The jumpers shall leave with integral knowledge in the art of the runway, approach, flight and extended landings.

INTENSE NOTE: This is a practice where hurdling, sprinting, jumping and throwing nearly become second nature. Our normal drills range from 10 to 50 repetitions. Spring break drills start at 120 repetitions, and as you can imagine move up in increments of 30 repetitions.

“Train Hard, Eat Right, Hydrate!!!”

Coach Griffin
