BULLDOG ATHLETIC CLUB

Game 2 of the Sports Illustrated Sportstown Kent WA Tournament was also a rainout makeup game for the 16U Bulldogs who got a 7 – 3 win over Seattle Select.  Doug Jones threw a complete game, 108 pitches walking 4 with 4 strikeouts and 2 earned runs. 

Center Fielder, Nick Minteer led the offense going 2-4 with a double, 1 RBI and 2 runs scored.  Second Baseman, Trevor Baldwin was 2-2 with 1RBI and Jake Kushan was 2-4 with an RBI.  Matt Simond added 2 hits in 3 plate appearances. 

The 16U Bulldogs win streak is now at 9 games and they put their winning streak on the line Friday July 10 at 7:00 PM against Toyota Baseball in the second round of the SI Sportstown Kent WA Tournament.  This game is also a league game rainout make up from earlier in the season.

Late Thursday afternoon on a hot July the 6th,  the Bulldogs got a big win 17 - 14 over NW Warriors in a game that started on June the 19th. 

Down 10 - 3 in the bottom of the 6th, on June 19th, the Bulldogs started a rally that didn't end until July the 8th.   With 4 runs across and the bases loaded, the game was delayed due to rain. 

On July the 8th the game was continued on and the Bulldogs continued the rally scoring an additional 10 runs to make the score 17 - 10.  The Warriors were not finished either and scored 4 runs of their own in the top of the 7th inning falling short in an effort to end the Bulldog winning streak.

Heading into the Bulldog Hosted Sports Illustrated, Sportstown Kent, WA 16U tournament, the Bulldogs won their eighth consecutive game 11-9 at Edmonds High School.

Starting pitcher Aaron Wagner and catcher Austin Brand lead the Bulldog offense each going 3 for 4;  Wagner with a triple and Brand with 2 doubles, 3 RBI and 3 Runs Scored. Short stop Pat Minzel was 2-2 with a double and a triple.

Tyler Stumph got the win in 4 innings of relief pitching.

The Bulldogs return to action at 1:00 Thursday, at Art Wright Field, with Seattle Select in the SI Sportstown Kent Tournament.  This game will also count as a league game which was rained out earlier this season. 

The 16U Bulldogs won their second tournament over the 4th Of July weekend going undefeated in the Woodinville Invitational tournament. 

Chris Bower got his second championship game win in a row as well going the full 7 innings against the host team allowing only 1 run in the top of the 7th.

The top of the Bulldog order was steller offensively scoring 3 of their 5 runs with 2 out hits by Nick Minteer.

The Washington State Babe Ruth Tournament will be hosted by the Bulldogs at Kent Memorial Park Art Wright Field beginning July 21 through 25.

There will be an admission fee. All costs for the tournament must be covered through admissions.
