NANETTE GOSSETT- Fastpitch Training Coordinator

Posted by Nevin Garthwaite on Aug 14 2008 at 05:00PM PDT

Nanette Gossette has been involved with fastpitch as a player and coach for over 20 years.  During the last six years, she has coached in the Kent School District including three years as 9th grade coach a Kentridge High School, four years as manager of the Meeker 7th grade team and two

years as manager of the Kent Meridian High School JV team and assistant on the Kent Meridian High School Varsity.

In 2007, Nanette managed the Kent Vipers, a first year tournament team affiliated with the Bulldogs. The Vipers quickly became a force to be reckoned with.  Nanette focused a great deal of attention on hitting and it showed as the team won one of their tournaments in their first season.  Despite considerable success with the Vipers, who were 10 – 0, Nanette was forced to take a year off in 2008 due to an automobile accident.

As a player, Nanette won four high school varsity letters in Ontario, CA.  After high school, Nanette moved to Georgia where she continued as a player and coach on highly competitive year round adult teams.

When it comes to fastpitch, Nanette is a “no nonsense” coach who emphasizes dedication, commitment and hard work.  She is also the kind of coach who earns the respect of her players as a coach who can be counted on to be a supportive role model for young ladies.

Beginning this fall, Nanette will return to coaching as manager of the 2009 Bulldogs 14U fast pitch team and will serve as Bulldog Fastpitch Coordinator and instructor in the Training Center.  She will offer various fastpitch camps and clinics, every three months, for girls age 8 – 18 beginning with a fall hitting camp this year.
