Game 2 - Python's vs. Post Office Gophers - June 19th

After being rained out on Saturday we took to the field on Sunday afternoon at 3pm taking on the Post Office Gophers (not sure where they are from??). Matt Gregoire was the starting pitcher, pitching a good game thru 6 innings allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 strikeout, and 2 walks.  The Python's had 9 hits, but just couldn't get them to tranpose to runs - we only tallied 3 runs - one being the biggest hit of the day what would be the game winning hit a HOME RUN by TJ in the bottom of the 6th inning to put us ahead after 6. Going into the 7th we sent Eric Gray to the mound, the Gopher's had their #5 hitter in the order at the plate, he got a base hit and was on 1st but got thrown out trying to steal 2nd on Dillon..... out at 2. Then Eric struck out the next to batters one looking and the other on a wicked 3rd strike. Very exciting game!!!

Python's 3 - Post Office Gopher's 2.

Up next the Championship Game at 8pm.

Python's vs. Eagan @ Dakota Park - June 17th

Game one of the tournament is serving as double duty - make up league game and first game of the tournament.  Nathan Buckley was on the mound for us going the distance with some great stats - 11 STRIKEOUTS, 2 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 1 hit batter.  A really great start to the tournament for the Python's.

Python's started early and didn't finish tacking on runs until the 5th inning..... 2 runs in the 1st, 4 runs in the 2nd including a triple by Dillon Bloomquist, a double by Danny Depauw and a stolen base, a double by Nathan Buckley before ending that inning. Then we added another run in the 4th inning off a single by TJ Pigeon and another double by Nathan Buckely. Then a couple of walks and a couple of hits again in the 5th inning tacked on another run to total 8. That was all it took......

Final Burnsville 8 - Eagan 3.

Game two tomorrow at 8:00pm vs. Post Office - Gopher's.

Python's vs. Bloomington @ Dred Scott - June 16th

Chase Boshart was on the mound against Bloomington under the lights at Dred Scott after two nights of rainouts, and pitched a real GEM!!   Allowing only 6 baserunners on 5 hits, NO walks, striking out 7 including the side in the 4th inning, and NO RUNS!! Great job #11!!

Burnsville just kept plucking away adding runs in 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th innings adding up to 7 for the Python's. Except one error it would have been a perfect game.

 Nice game Pythons!!

Final Python's 7 - Bloomington 0.

Python's vs. Edina @ Braemar Courtney Fields - June 13th

For the second day in a row the Edina boys got the best of us.  Pitching struggled a bit , a few errors, and we couldn't seem to keep the lead our offense gave us. Edina seemed to have our number and they were really smacking the ball around including a homerun in the 1st inning.

Riley Robertson took the mound to start the game going 4 innings giving up 7 hits, 7 runs, 2 walks, and 1 strikeout. He was relieved by Danny Depauw in the 5th inning. Danny went the duration giving up 6 hits, 4 runs, 1 walk, with 2 strikeouts.

The offense included  a four for four day for Logan Kent!!!! Two singles, two doubles, and 4 runs scored.  Sorry I know he had SEVERAL RBI's but I didn't keep track of that.... Great job!!! TJ Pigeon had a multi-hit game with 2 singles also.

Unfortunate result - loss #2 to Edina.

Final Edina 11 - Python's 7.

Python's vs. Apple Valley @ Ali BB - June 7th

Eric Gray had a solid pitching performance going the distance, only allowing 2 hits and 1 run over 5 innings.

The offense did well with numerous timely hits along with a bunch of walks, and hit batters......all resulting in 11 runs for the hometown team.

Glad to see it end after playing in the 103 degree temps.

 Final Python's 11- Apple Valley 1.
