Fairball Newsletter

The Fairball Newsletter is the official newsletter of Little League® Baseball and Softball umpires. Each issue provides targeted articles, rules interpretations, and a venue to ask questions allowing volunteers to stay connected with Little League Umpiring.

E-Rules

The E-Rules section offers access to the Little League Baseball®, Little League Softball®, and Little League Challenger Division® playing rules in digital format. Additionally, 11 video rule interpretations of the most common scenarios are available. Access the E-Rules and videos in the left nav bar under Little League E-Rules Links.

Little League® Umpire School Rules Instruction Manual (RIM) (2015 version now available!)

2015 R.I.M. Password is M)8b@dj3

The Little League® Rules Instruction Manual (RIM) is a compilation of the Little League Baseball®, Little League Softball®, and Little League Challenger Division® Playing Rules; “Make the Right Call” Little League® casebook; and additional comments from Little League International. The RIM is designed to provide supplemental guidance to administering the playing rules in an “at-a-glance” format. Scenarios from the casebook and comments offer further interpretations to clarify understanding.

Field Mechanics Manuals

The digital 60- and 90-foot diamond Field Mechanics Manuals provide volunteer umpires with a detailed description of the proper mechanics used when working in a 2-, 3-, and 4-umpire system. These are the approved mechanics for umpiring Little League® Baseball and Softball games
