Shssss! You'll Wake Up the Bats!!!

The Senator offense remained deadly silent, collecting just six hits in 12 innings, as they TIED the Marlton Red Sox 2-2 -- the game ended when the teams were forced off the field by the Township Junior Legion team and their gracious (not) coach.

Dan Barbara, back for his first action after hip replacement surgery, got two hits, including the big one: a game-tying single with two out in the ninth inning. Unfortunately, there was little else happening offensively.

The Senators wasted an excellent pitching effort from both John DiPietro and Chris Lawrence. DiPietro allowed just two first-innings runs in his five innings of work, and Lawrence tossed six shutout frames at the Sox before retiring. Dave Koerner finished with a shutout 12th.

The Nats will go to Bordentown in search of their offensive mojo next week, as they face the Bordentown Patriots.
