NEWFIELD SOCCER CLUB (NSC)

INTRAMURAL (IN-HOUSE) PROGRAM

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM NEWFIELD SOCCER CLUB (NSC) PROGRAMS?

It is our goal to provide to our members quality training, great competition and a fun environment to learn and play the game of soccer.  We want to provide the children with the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to play this game at any level the desire (travel, school, college and even professional).

Our club is comprised of 8 Divisions (U5, U6, U7, U8, U9, U10/U11/U12, U14 and U18).  All divisions are coed. We believe children can all learn from each other, boys and girls. The travel program is gender specific (although Long Island Junior Soccer League allow girls to play on boys teams, but not vice versa)

WHEN & WHERE ARE GAMES PLAYED?

Our games are played on Sundays only at Stage Coach Elementary School.  The game can start as early as 10:30 am and as late as 2:30 pm.

All of our coaches are volunteers.  Since they are donating their time, we allow them to coordinate the time and location of their practices.  However, the Club does secure fields from the Middle Country School District at Bicycle Path, Stage Coach Elem, North Coleman Elem, Hawkins Elem and Holbrook Elem.  It is from these locations that the coaches choose where to have practices.

WHEN AND WHERE IS THE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING CONDUCTED?

The professional training for the club is conducted by our Director of Coaching Eddie Hackett.  This training is in addition to coach ran practices.  These training sessions are conducted at North Coleman Elem School on Fridays between 5-7pm in accordance to age groups.

All parents are required to purchase their children shin guards, soccer cleats and a soccer ball.  Ball Size requirements U6 size 3, U12 size 4 and U13+ size 5.  These items can be purchased at Models, Sports Authority or Dicks Sporting Goods.  They have package deals.

WHERE DO WE GET THE UNIFORM?

The club stock the uniforms at Port Jeff Sports located on Rt 112, just South of 347. You are to buy your childs uniform directly from Port Jeff sports.

DO PLAYERS HAVE TO WEAR THEIR UNIFORM FOR PRACTICES?

No. Players must dress in appropriate and comfortable clothing for various weather conditions. No Jeans! Club t-shirts can be bought for practice if desired. Travel players are expected to wear club training t-shirts and club colors for practices and training sessions.

Posted by Arnaldo Adorno at Jul 22, 2009 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

The Newfield Soccer Club, once St. Margrets, in Selden Long Island has been building character through soccer since 1984.

The Newfield Soccer Club is a member of the Long Island Junior Soccer League Inc.  LIJSL, which it is commonly known, is the largest youth soccer league in the country and began in 1966 with eight teams.  They are currently 99 member clubs with over 75,000 registered intramural and travel players involved in the league.  LIJSL registers and schedules games for 1,500 plus travel teams from their member clubs each season from under ten years-old to under nineteen years-old.

Newfield Soccer Club is comprised of an Intramural League and Travel Teams.  Our Intramural League, which is 550 players strong, involves children as young as four years-old to children as old as fifteen years-old.  The Intramural Soccer Season begins in September (Fall Season) and ends in June (Spring Season).  Each half season includes 10 league games (8 games qauranted) that are played on Sundays as early as 10:30am and as late as 2:30pm.

Our Travel Program, which is 200 players strong, involves children as young as nine years-old and children as old as eighteen years-old.  The creation and management of our travel teams is the responsibility of Newfield Soccer Club.  Our Travel Teams participate in the LIJSL Travel Program.  LIJSL is responsible for the registration of teams and the scheduling of games.

Our goal at Newfield Soccer Club is to provide the children with a fun and competitive program.  A program  that gives them the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to achieve any goal the may have for themselves in this great game.

SOCCER PHOTOGRAPHS

The club offers our families the opportunity to have photographs taken of their children in the Fall of every season.  This event is coordinated and executed with the assistance of Sportography around Week No. 03 of our Intramural Season.

Forms and photo schedules will be made available to everyone prior to the days event.  This event takes place at Stagecoach Elementary School by the Boys U8 Soccer Field.

After the event, we can expect the final pictures to be delivered to us by Sportography about the beginning of November.  Once they arrive, we will distribute them to the coaches at Stagecoach for distribution to our members.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at EMail@NewfieldSoccerClub.com

Survey - Summer Camps

Posted by Arnaldo Adorno at Jul 22, 2009 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Hi everyone,

In partnership with the New York Red Bulls, Newfield Soccer Club has offered a summer camp the past two years for the children in our program.  In the summer of 2008 the participation was approximately 20 kids.  The participation for the Summer of 2009 was 16 kids.

The club would love to see the participation level in the summer camps increase.  In an attempt to reach this goal, we ask that you take some time an provide us with some input.  With this input we can probably make some modifications to make the camps more attractive and increase the level of participation.

Below are some questions we would liek to have you answer but feel free to add more.

Questions:

  1. Are you interested in a soccer summer camp for your children?
  2. Were you aware of the Newfield Soccer Summer Camp?
  3. Did your family participate?
  4. How was your child's experience if you did participate?
  5. If you did not participate, was there a specific reason (expensive, not interested, bad week)
  6. If you did participate, what did you or did not like about the camp?

Please email your reply to EMail@NewfieldSoccerClub.com

Thank you,

Newfield Soccer Board
