Another Great Day for La Mirada
at Central Park!
The
La Mirada Cross Country teams earned two more 1st place
trophies and a 3rd place award at the Central Park
Invitational. Here are the summaries of the races:
-
The Varsity Girls, behind stellar performances from Amber
Morrison, Amanda Stephens and Vanessa Thomas, placed 3rd
in their race. As their team time continues to drop, the girls have
maintained less than a minute gap between their 1st and 6th
runners. This was by far the best performance of the season for
the lady Mats.
-
The
Freshman boys, led by yet another 1st place finish from Nathaniel
Moore (17:10), finished far ahead of the competition with a team
score of 33 points. Jared Bird and Calvin Guerrero
finished 4th and 8th respectively.
-
The
Junior Varsity Girls, paced by Jessica Jorrie, finished 1st
for the second consecutive week. Due to a tie between the first two
teams, the outcome of the race was determined by the 6th
place finisher (Joy Jure).
-
The
Varsity Boys, paced by Alex Foster, Dag Tesfaye, and Jason
Cabalitan, performed admirably
Congratulations to the many runners who received
medals and the many others who set P.R.’s at Central Park. Check out
