9/16/00 Spartans and Pacers Tie 4-4

Posted by Dale Dubois on Sep 21 2000 at 03:40AM PDT
The Peabody Spartans and the NH Pacers ended in a tie on Sunday. Both teams were playing short handed as players were hard to find this weekend. This is in sharp contrast to the full team of 20 players that showed for the Pacers game against Windham last week. The Pacers first goal was scored by Louie Correai to even the score at 1-1. The Spartans then scored 3 unanswered goals in the second half to put the Pacers in a panic. The Pacers missed many scoring opportunities until Brian Germaine hit a beautiful side netting shot from his sweeper back position. This sparked the Pacers offense and was followed shortly by a tally from Scott Sharby off a Jeff Guild assist. Nearing the end of the game with the Pacers down a goal, John Guild finally found the net to even the score at 4 a piece. This is how it was to end. Look for the Pacers to show for a strong match against the Danvers Internationals this weekend. The Pacers are still searching for that 3 point victory.
