DEA Defeats PAC Lowell, 2-1.

Posted by Dale Dubois on Sep 17 2010 at 05:00PM PDT
The first match-up between these two teams in several years would end with DEA on top with a goal in the 82nd minute.  DEA now stands atop D1 Tied with Seacoast united.

The first half would see plenty of action at both ends, but some better opportunities for PAC Lowell but unable to finish.  DEA Keeper, Lucas Hill, would come up big to keep PAC off the board.  On the other end of the pitch, DEA would find themselves unable to test the PAC keeper, with a packed in 18 yard box and not many open looks at net.  In the 38th minute, DEA would break through.  After some nice foot work at the top of the 18, the ball would make its way to new guy Peter Anderson with an open look at twine.  Anderson would not hesitate, and the ball was in.  DEA 1-0.   The Feds took the lead into the half and the ref  reset his watch.

The second half brought more action at both ends and also some in the middle as DEA would see the yellow twice on plays near the center ring.  However the call or calls may have been questionable as the PAC salesman had done a fine job.  PAC would have some great opportunities, but would come up empty as DEA keeper, Hill, would make some some impressive saves going to either side, and come  up huge on an in close chance that was struck well.  DEA would have some chances of their own, twice putting the ball past the PAC keeper only to have it pulled off the line.  In the 78th minute, PAC would level the match after a scramble out front.  DEA keeper had trouble getting to a cross with much traffic in front of the cage.  A fortunate bounce for PAC and the score is tied and DEA was not happy.  The feds would respond within five minutes.  Willie received a nice ball, turned a defender, and streaked towards goal.  As a shot seemed predictably next, Willies unpredictably lay a nice feed to a streaking Anderson, and he would, again, find twine without hesitation.  DEA 2-1.  And, that's the way it would finish.  See ya Sunday for "Game of the week"  DEA vs. Ipswich @ Bedford.
