Posted by Dale Dubois on Sep 21 2000 at 03:41AM PDT
The Pacers end in a 2-2 tie with the Windham Soccer Club in hard fought game Sunday. Despite loosing their center Midfielder, Marco, early in the first half in a controversial Red card violation, the Pacers held the skilled Windham squad to one goad in the first half. The Pacers started the second half with only three in the defense on a strategic move to spark the offense. The Pacers controlled much of the play from the start of the second half and John Guild was able to bury the ball for the equalizer. The Pacers defence was strong throuhgout the second half controlled by Jeff Bailey in the center. The Pacers pulled ahead by a goal midway through the half on a penalty kick taken by Scott Sharby. The PK was the result of John Guild being taken down in the area as he beat his defender. Windham was able to tie the score with about 10 minutes remaining on a diving header that slipped by the Pacer 2nd half keeper Dean Wishart. Chris Cloutier was in charge of the net through the first half of play. The game ended in a tie. The Pacers showed much more skill than in their first outing with Westford and should look good for their upcoming game with Peobody at their home field at Legacy Park in Bedford.
