HIKE 2010 – Greenleaf Hut
Greetings Happy Hikers:
The Fall Hike for 2010 will take us to Greenleaf Hut, with excellent views and a choice of hiking options. We will spend Friday night, September 17, 2010 at the Highland Center in Crawford Notch, and will hike to Greenleaf Hut on Saturday, September 18, 2010. On Sunday, September 19, 2010 we will wrap up the weekend at Steve and Marilyn Monsein’s home in Sugar Hill, and appoint the next commander.
The rates, which are listed below, include a dinner at the Highland Center and Breakfast as well; the rate for the hut includes the same. The Highland Center serves a buffet dinner at 6:00 P.M. and the breakfast begins at 6:30 A.M.
Greenleaf Hut sits in a great location and there are many hiking trails, some are short and direct and others are more aggressive. The Bridle path is one of the shortest routes to the hut, and would allow hikers to drop their pack and consider a hike to the top of Mt. Lafayette. Book time for the Bridle path is two hours and forty minutes.
To reserve your spot, call the A.M.C. 603-466-2727, and reference the Northampton Hiking Club #144867 before August 3, 2010. There are thirty five spaces being held until August 3, 2010, and there is a refund policy. Payment should be made directly to the AMC, not to the commander.
Price includes dinner and breakfast.
