IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR WINTER

Happy NEW YEAR!

Hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas break with family and friends. With everyone rested up from their holiday and the beginning of a new year, it is time to get refocused and start goal setting. I have attached everyone’s results from FITDEX so you can start making goals for FITDEX #2 on March 4th. Use your results as a platform to help you grow and strive towards wanting more from yourself.

To help guide you and give you the opportunity to grow and improve on your FITDEX scores, there is a slight change in scheduling for the rest of winter.
Mondays will be start at 4:45 – 6pm in the Canada Games Room. This will allow us to train in a warmer space with access to more equipment. Still dress warm though.
Wednesdays are NO LONGER AT THE YMCA. Practice will be 4:30-5:45 in the Canada Games Room.
Saturdays are the same… runs at the field-house: arriving at 8:45 and warmed up ready to start the session with the older guys at 9.

I will be away as of next Wednesday for 6 weeks. You will have some fantastic coaches while I am away. Zoey Bourgeois will be coaching Mondays, Tea Anaka will be coaching Wednesdays, and Mike Robinson will lead the runs on Saturdays. Zoey, Tea, and I will be coaching the practices together over the next week so that there is a smooth transition and everyone knows the plan and expectations while I am gone.

With that we have created a stellar program for the next 2 months. You will have a circuit program for Mondays and Wednesdays, which will be posted in the Canada Games Room. For each circuit you will be recording how many reps you can do for each exercise. This means YOU MUST BRING YOUR NOTEBOOK! There is very little rest so you will all need your own notebooks to record your reps for each exercise and move around with it. At the end of each session you will record your results on a master sheet that will be posted in the CGR. This will allow you to track your progress from week to week. This program is designed to help you achieve your FITDEX goals for March. Tea, Zoey, and Mike are giving you the tools and the opportunities to become great paddlers; however, it is your determination and hard work that will allow you to succeed. So work hard, want more from yourself, and push your limits. Don’t forget to push your teammates around too! This is a great time of the year to prepare us for the upcoming paddling season!

We will see everyone tomorrow at the Canada Games Room with their NOTEBOOKS (no excuses)!

Our last practice before the Christmas break will be at the YMCA on Wednesday, December 21st. We will return back to our regular schedule Wednesday, January 4th. Have fun being active with your family during the time off!

The following is a message from Gina Anaka. This is a great way to work off your work credits, and get into the holiday cheer!

A few WRCC Christmas Tree Lot shifts have become available:
Northgate Mall: Saturday, December 3: 10am-2pm – 2 shifts
Victoria Square: Saturday, December 10 12:00-4pm – 1 shift
Victoria Square: Sunday, December 11 2pm-6pm – 2 shifts

As well, I am looking for help with the cage tear down – hoping our strong athletes can come out and assist with this. I am expecting we will be tearing down the cages at the Victoria Square Mall on Wednesday, December 21 or Thursday, December 22. Looking for 10 people.

Please contact Gina at geenie@sasktel.net or 306-537-8627

Thank you!
