Coaches versus Cancer: NEW location being at Finger Lakes Community College, game times remain the same.

The JV teams will play at 4:30 pm and Varsity will play at 7:30 pm with an Opening Ceremony at 7:15 pm.

Strike Out Cancer is an annual event held by the Penfield and Fairport High School Baseball Teams. While these neighboring towns have long enjoyed a great rivalry in all sports, this baseball game is a night when the teams (and towns) come together to raise money for the local American Cancer Society. This will be the 10th Anniversary of a great event!

The event is scheduled for Friday, May 17th at FINGER LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE, changed from Bachman Field at the Penfield Little League Complex. The JV teams will play at 4:30 pm and Varsity will play at 7:30 pm with an Opening Ceremony at 7:15 pm.

We will also have Stand Up to Cancer plaque cards available during the game for all guests to fill out and honor someone special who has been affected by cancer, as was done at last year’s MLB All-Star Game.

Each year, all the players and coaches wear a specially-designed commemorative shirt during pre-game ceremonies. Many of you have ordered this shirt already and others have ordered hoodies. These will be ready for you next week. If you still want to purchase one, see below regarding the event at Don’s Original on May 13 . Crazy Dog T-Shirts generously donated all of the T-shirts and Hoodies, so that 100% of all purchases can go directly to the American Cancer Society.

“Pre-Game” Fundraiser at Don’s Original – Monday, May 13th from 6 pm – 9 pm.
Don’s Original in Penfield will be sponsoring an evening for Strike Out Cancer on May 13, which will include dinner and drink specials throughout the night. Strike Out Cancer T-shirts and Hoodies will also be for sale. Purchase a T-shirt and receive a $3 Don’s gift certificate. Purchase a Hoodie and receive a $5 Don’s gift certificate. Please come and show your support!

We hope you can join us for both events! Our goal is to donate as much as we can to the American Cancer Society so that we can do our part to Strike Out Cancer. Thank you for your support of this great cause!

Fairport Baseball Families,

We have rescheduled Senior Day to May 15th due to the lovely weather we are having BUT our BBQ Food Truck Fundraiser will go on as scheduled on Monday May 6th. Location of the BBQ may change to the front parking lot if we are required to do so. We will let you know as soon as we do!

If you have not turned in your unsold tickets or payment for the tickets please do so immediately. We are happy to make arrangements to get them from you. If you are not selling any the tickets MUST be returned.

We also are reaching out to you about the BBQ Food Truck Fundraiser. For those that helped out last year you may remember we did not have nearly enough help to get the dinners put together and out to the droves of people that had bought tickets. With that said we are running it very differently this year. There will be 3 one hour time slots that will need to be filled and we are going to have each team in our program(Mod B1, Mod B2, Mod A, JV and Varsity provide 2 people for each time slot. Most teams do have a game scheduled that evening and we are just asking for an hour of your time to be able to make this a very successful fundraiser for our program.
Time slots are: 5:00-6:00, 6:00-7:00 and 7:00-8:00 or if all the ticket orders sold are picked up than it will be done sooner.

Please reach out to your team parent to sign up for the time slot you can help out at!

Thank you for helping make this Fairport Baseball fundraiser a huge success. Without all levels of participation this would not be successful as it has been and would not bring the added benefits to all our baseball teams.
