Electric City Bombers 16U Futures

The Electric City Bombers 16U Futures traveled to West Greenwich Rhode Island this weekend to compete in the Waves Summer Slam Invitational Tournament. The team played well in the rain shortened pool play earning the #2 seed in their pool. On Sunday the girls brought their A game winning the first 3 games earning them a trip to the final Championship game. The competition was intense as their opponents took an early lead. Going into the bottom of the 5th inning the Bombers were down 7-0. The team remained determined and motivated as they each entered the batters box . One by one they began chipping away at their talented opponents lead gaining energy and spirt with every hit, every pitch, and every play against their opponent until the game was tied going into the bottom of the 7th inning. Grace Bayly singled on a ground ball, courtesy runner Olivia Kelley in for Bayly, Sam Hardwick sacrifice bunted, Kelley advances to 2nd, a flyout to the Shortstop, 2 outs, Dani Torres steps into the batters box….. Ball 1….. , Strike 1…. , Line drive to center field, Olivia Kelley scores on Dani Torres’s walk off hit !!!

In addition to winning the Championship game the team learned to never give up and just keep working toward their goals and anything is possible!!!
