I have chosen a date for our home tournament which will be Saturday January 24th and Sunday, January 25th. We need to have this tournament to help raise money to help us out with the expenses for the season.
I have decided to enter us into a tournament in the Miramachi. It is on December 12th and the 13th. I have done some research and I think this will be a good tournament for us because I think we can compete with these teams.The players will need to leave school early to go to the tournament and we need to find some drives to get there. I need to have parent’s fill out the forms in order for them to be able to drive us.
The meeting time needs to be after the 9AM game on Saturday. since some of the players need to go to the empty stocking fund to sing in the school choir.
I am sorry for having to meet with all of you again but we need to discuss all of the documents we have to fill out for travel, medical information ect. I would like to do this maybe on the weekend after one of our basketball games during the Simonds Tip Off. Let’s go with a meeting after the 3PM game at Simonds on Saturday.
Just a recap on the first two games. The girls played really well there first two games together. The score of the first game does not reflect how hard everyone on the team worked. With 4 minutes left I gave them a goal of getting 20 points and the delivered. The second game was a huge improvement since we as a team made a goal of scoring 25 points and we almost doubled our score from the first game by scoring 38. I am very proud to be the coach of these girls who are always positive and work very hard. I will be giving out 3 stars out for each game and for the first game I am giving it to Rachelle – a good all around game and she shot well from the free throw line, Jane – who stepped it up and hit a 3 pointer at the end of the game to help us achieve our goal of 20 points and Rebecca (Blondie) Lawson – played very well the entire game and also hit the free throw to give us 20 points. Game three stars where Rachelle who had 21 points and 11 rebounds which was more then half the teams points, Jaclynn who grabbed 16 rebounds and scored 9 points and Sam Palmer who played very hard on defense.
