2016 Allstar Games

Posted by Vince Greco on Jan 10 2016 at 01:00PM PST

Great day yesterday at Layritz. The rain stayed away, the sun was out, was a little breezy at times, but all good!
Facilities that Prospect Lake have been working on are ever so close to being complete, a great place to call home for them forsure!
The Prospect Lake people that hosted put in a lot of time – guys like Adriano Sumberac, Darren Massey, Mike Akam, Kevin Watson, Chris Cheng and others were there Friday and Saturday taking care of business.
Tents and warmth by Jeune Bros was great, Molsons sponsored beer garden worked out well, the bbq & concession was good – just a great effort by PL.
A big thankyou to Dan Shortt of Shortt Sound who had the tunes and announcing station set up. Also, was great to have Victoria Sports News there for the Final game with goal pros and post game interviews! Check out the interviews with Jordie Hughes & Cam Stokes when you can:

A big thankyou to VISL Board members who spent the day there. Getting there at 8 am to set up signage,change-rooms,sound, and put out the day program etc – was pretty cool that all but 3 of our Board was there to support and help out with the day. And thanks to Rose for being the photographer for the day – hopefully we see the pictures and they were not lost post games in the celebrations that followed!

Post day festivities in the beer garden were on the fun side as well as the happenings afterwards.
There was a security breach in the beer garden where the Masters trophy was stolen and missing for some time.
After a covert / special ops search, another VISL victory as the trophy was found. It somehow got into a FVSL players bag.
Found by Moreno Stefani and he also received a MVP toasting as he ran with the trophy over his head through the beer garden!

We appreciate FVSL coming over this year, and look forward to defending both trophies next year as a Masters & Div 1 select squads will make their way to the Fraser Valley.
