News and Announcements

Everyone,

This young man from Roosevelt High School has a great program started. Does anyone want to head this up and start collecting gear from our guys that is not in use anymore? We could keep it in our garage at school until we can get to Roosevelt High School.

Thanks,

Coach Allen

My name is Michael Romanowski and I am a member of the Roosevelt Rough Riders baseball team. I am also the founder of the Give Gear Get Gear program. The GGGG program collects used baseball gear and gets it back out into the community in the hands of players who need gear. Since I started this program in 2013, GGGG has been able to supply quality used gear to hundreds of players in Northern Colorado. The cost of gear should never stop someone from being able to play this great game! This year I am reaching out to our opponents and asking them to clean out their basements and bring used gear to the game when they play the Riders. We need gloves, bats, pants, balls, cleats, helmets, batting gloves, catcher’s gear , hats, shirts, belts, socks…… We can find a home for every piece of gear donated. There is a need for all sizes. The GGGG program also welcomes softball gear. I would be grateful if you would let your players and their parents know about the program and encourage them to donate their used gear. If you have a player or know of someone in need of gear, please let me know.

If you have any questions about the program, please feel free to contact me at givegeargetgear@gmail.com or 970-978-5764.

Missing practice

Posted by Ft Lupton High School Bluedevils Baseball at Mar 10, 2015 7:51PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

As the season progresses and we are finally able to begin playing games,it has become apparent to the coaching staff that attendance to practice has not been consistent for all of our players. This post is meant to clarify the difference between acceptable excuses for missed/late arrivals to practice, such as; dr. appointments, funerals, school duties, important family events, medical emergencies, and un-excused absences such as haircuts, sleeping in, and many of the other excuses that have been given for missing practice. If you are an ineligible or an injured player, you are still required to attend practice as you are still a part of this team, the same goes for if you have forgotten your equipment that day. If you have a situation that you can not get out of that will cause you to miss practice, you most notify someone on the coaching staff at least 24 hrs in advance and we will do our best to manage each individual circumstance. *The penalty for missing or being late to practice will be at the discretion of your coaches. This means that playing time will almost certainly be taken away from players that choose to come late or skip practice. The amount of playing time will be up to the coaches involved to determine. * Please see any of the coaches if you have any questions.

Due to wet fields in Elizabeth, the varsity games this week have been modified. Elizabeth will travel to Ft. Lupton on Wednesday and we will be traveling to Elizabeth for Friday’s game. Game times remain the same, only the locations have changed, the calendar has been updated.

Due to snow on the field, Thursday’s game against Valley HS has been cancelled. Sunshine in the forecast, let’s keep our fingers crossed.

When the schedule was first entered, the location for Thursday’s game was entered as Valley High School. The game will actually be played at BigFoot Turf’s Field of Dreams. The address and directions have been updated on the calendar. If you have any questions, please contact any of the coaches.
