Salvation Army Kettles

West Kelowna Minor Baseball is scheduled to volunteer with the Salvation Army for their Christmas Kettles. We are scheduled for this Saturday December 6th at West Kelowna Canadian Tire. We are still in need of volunteers to help us.
We need to fill 3 2 hour shifts 12-2, 2-4 and 4-6pm. This is a great opportunity for West Kelowna Minor Baseball to be out in our community, giving back! If you are able to give 2 hours this Saturday, please call Carol at 250-317-2132 or email lolo_69@msn.com. If you have a jersey or hoodie please wear, if you don’t we will have jerseys there. This is open to players and parents.

Arizona Trip Planned for 2015

Three BC Minor Teams Are Planning to make a trip to Mesa Arizona March 19th to 22 2015. The forth team will be made up with players from several team thru out BC. Philadelphia Phillies Scout Marty Lehn is working to put the Spring Training
Camp together. Teams will be limited to 14-16 players per team. See the attachment below for more information. We will have to put down a deposit by Oct 1 if we want to secure a place.

18U (Midget AAA) Baseball Event – Arizona
Date: March 16 – 19 (Monday – Thursday)
Where: Mesa, Arizona
Objective: Training camp/gamesfor 18U aged players over 4 days in the Valley of the sun starting Monday morning,
March 16 and ending Thursday evening, March 19. The camp will give the opportunity for each individual player and
team to work on positional skill development, Hitting and team play with their coaches and former MLB coaches, scouts
and players over the 4 days. Individuals will also have the opportunity to practice and play games with their club team
during the week in their preparation for the 2015 season. This program will be limited to 4 complete teamswith a
minimum roster of 14 players and a maximum of 16.
Cost:
- With your Team $350
- As an individual $900 – this will include:
o Participation with Team BLE and with their coaching staff: Bob Didier, Albie Lopez and Marty Lehn

Tentative schedule:
*On a daily basis each team will have the opportunity to have team time (Practice), skill development time with team
and professional coaches as well as play games.
Monday, March 16:
9:00 – 11:00am Or 11:30 to 1:30 (Team Practice – Each team has 1 two hour practice).
12:00 – 2:30 ( 1 Game)
2:30 – 5:00 (Game)
*Teams will either play the 12 or 2:30 game

Tuesday, March 17:
9:00 – 11:00am (Specialty session/Hitting) MLB Game, Campus Visit or Free time
5:30 – 8pm (All Teams will play a game at this time)
Wednesday, March 18:
9:00 – 11:00am Or 11:30 to 1:30 (Team Practice – Each team has 1 two hour practice).
12:00 – 2:30 (Game)
2:30 – 5:00 (Game)
*Teams will either play the 12 or 2:30 game

Thursday, March 19:
9:00 – 11:00am (Specialty session/Hitting)
*MLB Game, Campus Visit or Free time
5:30 – 8pm (All Teams will play a game at this time)

  • Teams will have the option of being allotted an indoor training session at Extra Innings batting cages in Mesa, Arizona*

    Bob Didier – Hitting coach of Washington Wildthings and 5 time World Series champion and former MLB catcher
    Albie Lopez –11 year MLB pitcher and World Series Champion with Arizona D-Backs
    Tim Unroe – Former MLB outfielder and corner infielderwith Milwaukee Brewers(Guest coach)
    Coaches of 18U AAA (Midget) Division.
    In Summary:
    Each team and individual will have:
    - Two team practices
    - Two specialty sessions
    - Four games with pre games – one on each day
    - One indoor workouts
    Free time:
    - 2 evenings and 2 afternoons to take in MLB games, campus visits or free time
    Please Note:Airfare, Hotels(excluding team BLE as this is built into their cost), meals and Transportation when in Arizona will
    have to be provided by either the individual or club Teams.

13U (Peewee) which is for 2nd year 11U Players who will be moving up to !3U next year or players
who played 13U for the first time this year and will be a second year Player in 2015.

13U’s will practice on Wednesday nights at Darroch. As well we will schedule some exhibition games for the weekends. The first session will be Wednesday Sept 3rd at 5pm and the program will run thru Oct 8th. The Cost is $90 for the season and will include a T-shirt.

15U (Bantam) This will be players who played 2nd year 13U and 1st year 15U in the spring. this program will run Tues and Thurs from 5:30-7:30 beginning Sept 4th running till Oct. 23rd. the fall session will focus on skill development, including both offensive and defensive parts of the game. Cost is $140 and will include a t-shirt/jersey. As well we will have exhibition games.

18U (Midget) Fall ball sessions will begin Thursday Sept. 4th from 5:30-7:30. Practices will be Tues and Thursdays. Sessions will run until Oct. 23rd. Sessions are to prepare players for the 2015 season and will focus on individual as well as team skills. Cost $140 includes t-shirt/ jersey.

The West Kelowna Minor 11U (Mosquito) tier 2 AAA team has earned a birth in the Provincial Championship tournament along with 9 other teams from throughout British Columbia. This year the tournament will be held in Duncan B.C. from August 1st-4th. We wish them the best of luck and know they will represent the association well.

The West Kelowna 13U Aa backs will be competing in Vernon this weekend in an
attempt to win a Provincial berth. Teams from Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton And West Kelowna will be competing for 2 Provincial berths.
