News and Announcements
WBJAA offers cheerleading for ages 5-12
WBJAA inspires the cheerleaders through teaching dedication, team work, friendship, leadership and good sportsmanship. We strive to make cheerleading a fun, learning experience with lessons that follow them far beyond the spirit of cheering. Throughout the season our coaches will teach sideline cheers for the games. Our cheer squads travel with their football teams and perform in front of our fans during each game. In addition to cheering our teams on as they play against opponents, our cheer squads prepare to compete in the Southeastern Virginia Pop Warner Cheer Competition which takes place near the end of October. Jr Pee Wee and above cheer squads will have the opportunity, if they qualify, to compete regionally and nationally.

The cheer squads work hard all season leading up to the cheer competition/exhibition in which each cheerleader plays an integral part in the routine. These competitive routines may include stunts where the cheerleaders depend on each other with a high degree of teamwork. Promptness and commitment is necessary not just for the routine but also to ensure safety with the stunts.
- Practice Prior to Labor Day - 5 days a week
- Practice After Labor Day - 3 days a week with a game usually on Saturday
