A Thanksgiving poem, by Ken Malloy:
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday
It is simple to me
A gathering of friends and family
And admission is free
No expectations of gifts
To clutter your mind
Just your presence
That is your gift in kind
Healthy fun is expected
Some football viewing to boot
Just watch the faces of young and old
For their team they do root
Food a plenty
We are bountifully blessed
At some an antipasto
And a Turkey fully dressed
As we encounter the inevitable
Here cometh the food coma
Take in the joy and laughter
And that Thanksgiving day aroma.
The older I get
The more heartfelt the message
It’s about the relationships
We forge through this passage.
There are those less fortunate
Many give for a cause
Your hearts are in the right place
True giving has no pause.
Happy Thanksgiving
I am grateful for you all
Be safe this holiday season
And let’s have a ball!

"The Murphy Rule", by Paul Korngiebel
League rule 18.4 subsection A line 4: ". . . he who headbutteth the enemy in an unseemly fashion and scampereth away, thus discrediting the valor of his team, shall be suspended forewith and with posthaste dispatch forfeit said right to play against all other enemies for a period of five league matches, including any fun games that might lessen his suffering from being banned, but no longer than the menstrual cycle of a yak, lest such dastardly and cowardly behavior infect his team."
Thus spaketh the Lord of SASL, and the players, though filled with blood lust for the enemy, knew it was good and right, and so gave up their desire to headbutteth the enemy, even when they knew the enemy deserved a good knock on the noggineth.
And thus football became distinct from rugby.
