PSP Unlimited

Ithaca Beer Co claimed the B/C Division Championship with an exciting 4-3 double overtime victory over PSP Unlimited to sweep the final series two games to none.  In the deciding game, the teams played an entertaining, wide open first period trading goals in route to a 2-2 tie. The first period excitement included a short-handed goal and a power play goal on the same penalty.

The teams settled down to a scoreless second period before Ithaca Beer took the lead just under six minutes into the third period.  PSP was able to hold that score by defending a two-player-down penalty kill.  They then rallied to score the game tying goal with just 1:28 remaining to force overtime.

The momentum shifted back and forth during the first overtime period, but neither team was able to score during the 20 minute session.  In the second overtime, Ithaca Beer fought off a penalty and scored the championship winning goal eight minutes and seven seconds into the period, just 18 seconds after returning their player to the ice.

Ithaca Beer Co finished second during the regular season with a 15-7-4 record.  PSP Unlimited  was fourth at 13-9-4. Both teams won their quarter-final series against tough opponents with records of 1-0-1. Each team then advanced to the final round after being forced to three game 2-1 series during the semi-finals.
