Glenn Mello’s line-drive single to center field plated the winning run, giving the Scrappers a 7-6 walk-off decision over the Thunder in a midseason showdown at Benevento Park.

Jakob Hulett earned the win by pitching a shutout inning in the sixth, recording two strikeouts. Nalo Benedict got the start and threw four effective innings before exiting with a 6-2 lead. The Scrappers had built an early four-run lead, thanks to a five-run second inning, but the Thunder knotted things at 6-6 with four runs of their own in the fifth.

The Scrappers tallied eight hits on the day, with Mello, Hulett, Benedict, and Brendan Gazda each collecting two on the day.

Nolan Pierce and Cole Bakr managed multiple hits for Thunder as part of their nine-hit attack.

The result put both teams at 7-1 on the spring, tied atop the Minors standings.
