The Royals grabbed the lead late in the game and went on to an 11-7 victory over the Angels on Wednesday at Benevento Park. The game was tied, 6-6, with the Royals batting in the top of the fifth when Derek Scott singled on a 0-1 count, scoring the go-ahead run. From there, they never looked back and added two more with an RBI single by Brady Eng in the sixth.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. The Royals collected eight hits and the Angels had seven. Eng was credited with the victory for Royals, going two innings in relief, allowing one run on two hits and walking none. Wesley threw one inning of scoreless ball to close out the game.

The Angels scored three runs in the second inning, led by Ryan Labb and Max Forristall.

The Royals’ big bats were led by Jackson Wesley, Finn Rodger, Eng and Scott, who each drove in runs in the third inning.
