WPLL Modified League Rules for 2016 

 

Washington Park Little League (WPLL) is Governed by the Rules Set Forth by Little League Baseball and Softball Incorporated with the following Modifications:

**ALL DIVISIONS**

1 - 2 HOUR TIME LIMIT ( this is a "DROP DEAD" time limit)

 Incomplete FULL inning reverts to the previous FULL inning.  A game is OFFICIAL if Four (4) innings have been completed.

2 TIME OUTS 

 5th Inning or Later only two(2) Defensive time outs allowed.  Repeated violator(s) will be subjuect to suspension.

3 PLAYER POOL

Player used in the pool can only play the outfield and bat 7th or lower in the line-up. Team may only request no more than 3 players from the pool.

Exception: if no one is available in the player pool you MAY borrow up to 3 players from the opposing team to make an official line-up. 

4 - STANDINGS

Due to the possibility of a game ending in a tie a "point system" shall also be used.  Point System is as follows:

Win = 2 Points, Tie = 1 point, Loss = 0 Points 

 

SOFTBALL 

1 CONTINUOS BATTING ORDER - Applies to ALL Divisions

-Player DOES NOT have to play six continuous defensive outs.  Player may play 3 consecutive outs in 2 different innings.

ex: Player A enters game on defense in the second inning. At the end of the 2nd inning Player A may be removed and may return to the defensive line-up in the 4th, 5th or 6th inning to complete the mandatory 6 Defensive Outs.

2- PITCHING DISTANCE

11 & 12 Year Olds - 40 Feet

9 & 10 Year Olds - 35 Feet

8U - NOT ALLOWED to play the position of Pitcher or Catcher. 

3 - FACE MASK

MANDATORY for a Pitcher to wear a face mask. 

4 - HIT by PITCH

 Majors - pitcher shall be removed from pitching at UMPIRE's DISCRETION

Seniors -  pitcher shall be removed from pitching if 2 batters are hit within the same inning or 3 batters in a game

5 - Time Outs  

5th Inning or Later, only Two (2) DEFENSIVE time outs allowed.  Repeated violater(s) will be subject to suspension.

6- HOME AND AWAY

 Majors - A COIN FLIP will establish home and away team for every regular season game.

 Seniors - Home Team is on the RIGHT hand side of the schedule

BASEBALL 

 

1 - PITCHING

1a- Pitch Sheets

- must be turned in after every game.  If not turned in said pitcher(s) are assumed maxed out and cannot pitch until said days rest are met.

  PENALTY: Any manager or coach not turning in pitch sheets will be subject to discipline. 

  1b- Hit by Pitch (HBP)

Majors - pitcher shall be removed from pitching if 2 batters are hit within the same inning or 3 batters in a game. If he/she is removed that player may be moved to any other position.

Minors - pitcher shall be removed from pitching at UMPIRE's DISCRETION.  If he/she is removed that player may be moved to any other position.

 2 HOME AND AWAY

 A COIN FLIP will establish home and away team for every regular season game.
