NRLL White Hat Duties

  Weekday games: arrive at 4:15 pm
Saturday games: arrive at 8:00 am
White Hat keys are located in the snack bar.
   
  BEFORE GAMES:
 
  • Put sponsor banners out on each field. (Saturday all sponsor banners).
  • Unlock bathrooms
  • Put soap dispenser and trash can in each bathroom.
  • Put 2 chairs and 1 table in each scorekeepers booth.
  • Help farm game set up pitching machine. (If needed)
  • Make sure each team has a parent in the snack bar.
  • Periodically empty all trash cans including snack bar and bathrooms.
  • Put up snack bar information board located in umpire room.
  AFTER GAMES:
 
  • Take down banners
  • Put away soap dispensers & trash cans
  • Put away scorekeeper chairs
  • Make sure all trash cans are empty
  • Lock bathrooms
  • Take down snack bar information board
  RULES TO FOLLOW:
  Below are some rules to make sure are followed when you are white hat or if you observe something while at the park, as a board member please correct
it. 
 
1. For major divisions on down, only the player at bat may have a bat in his/her hands.

2. Manager/coaches may not warm up a pitcher.

3. Catchers must wear a mask and cup when warming up a pitcher.

4. No game can begin or continue once started with fewer than nine players from the major division on up.

5. Only managers, coaches and players may be in the dugouts for minors and majors on up.

6. Only bats meeting LL specifications may be used in a game or practice.

7. Bat donuts are not allowed on the field or in the dugout or at practices.

8. All helmets must be inspected for cracks before each game and replaced if cracked.

D5 staff periodically visits the games for their assigned leagues and be available for questions from the league and to report any rule or safety violation to the league president that they observe. Staff is at the games in an advisory capacity only and is not to interfere with the games in progress.
You are the "Go To" person during the game. If you are in a situation and can not find a solution, call 225-8712.

Note: Each Board Member is required to work a day as White Hat.
