Posted by Tanya Sullivan on Jan 15 2006 at 04:00PM PST
Louis was selected in the 13th round of the 2005 Major League First Year Player Draft by the Detroit Tigers. Ott was a 3 year major league player for West America Bank. He splashed onto the major scene as a 10 year old, in one early season game hitting a 6th inning homerun off of Quick Stop 12 year old Dan Munson, breaking up a shutout. He went on to be a Little League All Star, then played Junior League for Royal Petroleum. In his 13 year old year, Ott was on the Junior League All Star team, with teammate Konrad Schmidt, the 2005 California Junior College player of the year. The Junior All Stars that year won CA District 35, and California Section 1, playing in the Division II tournament in Roseville.

Ott then went on to become a four year Varsity baseball player at Casa Grande High School. He played two years at Sacramento City College, where he continued to take his game to a high level, leading the team in hitting.

Louis' parents are both former PALL volunteers.  His Dad Jerome was a Manager and Coach.  Mom Christina headed the Parent Auxiliary.
