Delaware Explosion-Thursby 14U makes the most of 3 hits in 7-6 victory over Vienna Velocity

Delaware Explosion-Thursby 14U and Vienna Velocity both threatened with rallies, but it was Delaware Explosion-Thursby 14U that eventually took advantage of them in a 7-6 win.

Vienna Velocity out-hit Delaware Explosion-Thursby 14U six to three, but Vienna Velocity stranded seven runners on base.

 Katie McMenamin racked up three RBIs on two hits for Delaware Explosion-Thursby 14U. She singled in the first and fourth innings.

 Ashley Politza got the win for Delaware Explosion-Thursby 14U despite allowing six runs over six innings. She struck out seven, walked four and surrendered six hits.

Vienna Velocity jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the top of the first. Lauren Hardesty got things going for Vienna Velocity with a double. A groundout by Claire Armstrong then moved Lauren Hardesty from second to third. The scoreboard lit up again for Vienna Velocity when Sophie scored on an RBI single by Krista Beach and Beach scored on an error.

Delaware Explosion-Thursby 14U scored two runs in the first inning, and then followed it up with two more in the second. In the first, Delaware Explosion-Thursby 14U scored on an RBI single by Katie McMenamin, plating Jackie Holowka.
