FPLL Triple A A’s vs. Royals

A’s 14, Royals 2
Thursday, March 22 the FPLL Triple A A’s played the Royals. Triple A A’s led an offensive attack with just under 4 runs per inning. Victor Martinez was the starting pitcher and pitched two shutout innings in addition to three hits; one a triple and one a RBI. Jordyn Bennett came in as a relief pitcher, struck out all three batters she faced as well as had one single and a RBI. DJ Scott started off the game with a hard shot to left field, had two hits, scored two runs and stole two bases. Gavin Rucker led off the second inning with a line drive hit to right field, one RBI and scored a run to help the offensive attack.

Saturday, March 24 the FPLL Triple A A’s played the Rangers. Matteo Ponce was the starting pitcher and pitched two shutout innings as well as led the offensive charge with two hits; one a double off of the centerfield fence. Alec Merodio was the second player with two hits, one a triple off the left field fence and in addition threw out a runner at third from centerfield to stop the Royals’ rally. The third player with two hits was Gabriel Carcamo, one of which was a double. Nick Nygard led a tough defensive game with a great catch in centerfield and a double play at second base to end the game and preserve the shutout.
