An Urgent Letter from the TABB President...

Posted by Carisa Perkins on Mar 29 2008 at 05:00PM PDT

Dear TABB Family

As some of you are aware of, effective immediately, our Snack Bar is closed. A complaint was filed with the Health Department by a parent from our league instead of coming to the TABB Board with their concerns. The Health Department conducted an inspection on Thursday night and found nothing to support their complaint. TABB’s snack bar was closed, however, due to non compliance with building codes and permits and NOT DUE TO SANITARY CODES. We are diligently working to rectify this situation and are hoping to find a temporary solution soon.

The approval process ahead of us is complicated and very costly. This will be a difficult challenge without the revenue from the snack bar. We are currently discussing ideas for fundraising and we ask that you continue to support TABB during this process. In the meantime, we are reaching out to our TABB families for resources to help us to solve this problem in a timely manner.

This is a huge blow to Torrance American Baseball. We rely heavily on the funds generated from the snack bar to maintain the fields, pay our utilities, dues & insurance and provide the very best we can for our children. Unfortunately, IT’S THE CHILDREN WHO ARE BEING AFFECTED THE MOST! The hot dogs and slush puppies are a big part of their baseball experience.

We want to thank you for your patience and understanding during this time and for helping to keep this The Finest Baseball League in South Bay!

Christopher Cuff
President
Torrance American Baseball
