Arizona Senior Fall Classic

Jake, who was trying to throw as hard as he could possibly throw, and trying to impress Coach Nate Trosky and the 1 zillion scouts in the stands, had a bad night of mechanical failure. A very hard lesson learned. As a parent, it is heart-breaking to sit in the stands and watch your son completely fall on his face in such a critical situation, and there is nothing you can do to help them. There were no bats thrown or hit against the wall, no glaring or cursing at the umpires; There was no bad attitude, and no ugly body language; there was no walking on or off the field, and no whining or pouting on the bench. There was just good Character and Sportsmanship. I am so proud of you Jake for the leadership qualities you possess and for doing your best to overcome failure and finish off the night with a line drive hit to right field, and performing very strong in the rest of the showcase.
