2011 SAN BERNARDINO CLASSIC III

District 57 will be heading to San Bernardino (Western Region HQ) for the second San Bernardino Classic.  Dates for this yar's tournament will be April 8  - April 10, 2011.

Eight teams (majors level) will travel down to the Western Region HQ and play a slate of games at the site of the WR Tourney -- Team draw October 2010 Presidents meeting.

A pool play format will be set up - with it estimated thagt each team will get  3 games, with every team getting at least one game under the lights.  Games begin mid-day on Friday, April 8 with Semi's and Championship Games being held on Sunday, April 10.  Sunday, April 10 will also have the "skills challenger" to start off the final day of events (schedule attached)

Due to Western Region HQ dorm renovations, this yar the host hotel will be the Hilton San Bernardino.  The hotel is offering a special rate to all participants and their families

Excitement is in the air!!!   March 20, 2011 -- that is the (tentative) opening day of the CA 57 2011 Challenger Season.     Again in 2011 -- all D57 Challenger Teams will be playing at the Dublin Sports Park -- on Sundays -- 1:30pm and the schedule will be posted shortly.

  

Leagues in CA57 with Challenger Programs:   Dublin, Pleasanton National, Livermore American, San Ramon, Danville, Tassajara Valley........      Players from all 12 leagues join in the fun --- and these hosts make for a very enjoyable season.    Please visit these 6 leagues to sign up for the 2011 season.

   

As a note -- this is the 22nd playing season for the CA 57 Challenger Little League program at CA57.  This program is certainly one of the many highlights within the programs offered at CA 57,     The Challenger Division was started by Little League Baseball in 1989 in Bristol, Connecticut.    CA 57 started Challenger in 1990 and is one of the oldest in the U.S.   We are all very proud of the players - families - coaches and administrators that make this program successful.     If you have a player from age 5 to ........  that would like to play... please contact one of the 6 leagues shown above.

Sorry - the district cannot control teams that drop out at the last minute -- and when that happens -- the brackets must change

Note - Summer Tournaments are run and managed by the host - please do not contact the district in regards to these tournaments.   All "Summer Games" have been approved by LLB - and are to be played using the 2010 LLB rule book (tournament rules section).

Note 6/22/10 - Brackets are in process of being completed, BUT - we have been notified that some teams might be dropping, or adding.  If that occurs -we will have to do a complete new tourney draw.   Once brackets are posted - do not count on them as being your games.   As said - if someone drops or adds - we will do a brand new draw....everyone should be prepared to play on Saturday 6/26 at 10am.   Thanks - CA57 Staff
