 May 22, Giants (13-1-1) vs Diamondbacks (4-8-2)

Again the Giants continue to progress and move forward ... and the players continue to be supportive and enjoy each other.  And this 16th game was no exception .....

For defense Second Base was the hot spot in this one as the ball was magnetized towards the middle bag.  Ryan started the game at 2B and completed 3 different type of put outs ... one was the grounder that he controlled and threw the dart to first ... the next was a popup he shouted "I GOT IT" as he wrapped the glove around the ball ... and the final play ... ohhhh boy ... as he quickly slid to his right, backhanding the 2 hopper up the middle, and shifting his momemtum towards first firing the perfect throw for the out ... sweet!  Cade also found fortune at the middle grounds as he went "pinky to pinky" fielding the roller and keeping the baserunners off the bags.  Colin too took the routine grounder and squashed any threats.

And of course it takes two to complete the outs ... 1B Caleb and Aidan have been outstanding all season and 50% of the reason why our defense is tops in the league.

With majority of the balls being hit to 2B where the clinic was being held, there was only one other defensive play for the day ... 3B Tyler caught the D-Backs popup completing our perfect defense:  6 Put Outs, 6 K's, 1 Hit, 1 Run, 0 Errors

Offensively, our scorekeeper has to bring a sharpener to the games because of all the markings, and today was no different --- 14 runs, 25 hits.  We almost went through the lineup THREE TIMES  over FOUR INNINGS ... that's nuts!  Everyone had at least a hit in this contest with 9 kids getting two!  Five players were even perfect at the plate ... Caleb (3-3, 3 R, 1 RBI, 2 SB), Aidan (3-3, 2B, 1 R, 5 RBI), Cameron (3-3, 2B, 2 R, SB), Mitchell (3-3, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 SB) and Ben (2-2, 1 R, 1 RBI).

SP Tyler and RP Mitchell pitched a solid game as both recorded a strikeout.  Outside of the very first batter getting a hit, these two pitchers didn't allow a run, a hit, or even a baserunner.  As a matter of fact ... they were only one batter away from a no-hitter!

I'm thinking haircuts should be mandatory because what Ryan Jarrett did this game was incredible (well, at least for the normal AA player, but actually for "Radar" it's routine).  And offensively he's reached on base 6 out of 6 attempts past 3 games.  I'm thinking next practice will be at SuperCuts!!!
