Wrap:  By Jeff Pierce Daily Times Chronicle

The Bulldogs (3-4-1) battled the Watertown Reds to a 2-2 extra inning tie under the lights at Victory Field in a typically tight matchup between the two Intercity League rivals.

On a night where the Bulldogs had only one regular pitcher at the game, they received a heroic performance from lefty Sean Boyle who threw 130 pitches in a complete game effort. Boyle scattered six Reds hits to go along with his six strikeouts and was supported well by strong outfield play from Tommy Bounopane and Colin Sitarz.

It was Bounopane who made the key play leading to the two Bulldog runs when he avoided an inning ending tag play at the plate with a brilliant juke of the Red's catcher who was waiting for him. After that play Zac Talis singled in the second run of the night to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning.

After the Reds scored two to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth, the Bulldogs were hit with some bad luck on the only field in the league that does not have a right field fence. Leading off the sixth, Mike Taylor hit a bomb that virtually split the uprights on the football field 400 feet away. Taylor legged out a triple but in another case of untimely hitting this year, by the Bulldogs, he was left stranded there.

Over the last three innings neither team mounted a threat and the game ended after two extra innings (per league rule) in a 2-2 deadlock.
