Wrap: By Jeff Pierce Daily Times Chronicle

The Bulldogs combined extra base power with solid relief pitching to comeback from a two run deficit in the late innings to win their first game at Endicott College.

The Reading pitchers held the Americans to just one hit on the night, but a tight strike zone         ( eight free passes) and two throwing errors put the Bulldogs in a 3-1 hole in the fourth inning.

The Bulldogs had five extra hits on the evening but left several runners stranded in scoring position until they finally had some timely hits in the fifth inning. Steve Buitkus and Nick Conti set the table to start the fifth inning and then both came around to score on a Colin Sitarz sacrifice fly and a Mike Taylor 380 ft triple to dead center bring home the lead run.

Sean Boyle settled down the walkathon with three hitless innings of relief, including three strikeout while retiring the last eight American batters.
