Welcome to the 2008 RWLL Junior Braves website. Need to know when and where the next game is? Click the schedules link and it will show you all of our upcoming games as well as all of our played games. The practice schedule is being "reworked" but the schedule you have now is what we are working off of for the time being. Game stats are coming soon!

5/7 - You boys never fail to amaze me on the field. With the two game sweep of Roseville East teams behind us we can continue to concentrate on the games that lay ahead. You faced adversity in the last two games with both being come from behind wins in the bottom of the 7th...and it's a great feeling! Pitching will no doubt become harder once the rest of the teams pickup their high school kids but we have every confidence that you will face that challenge head on. Last night's game was a great TEAM win! Congratulate yourself boys...you deserve it.

4/27 - Three games have gone by since last posting and we have had a bit of a bumpy road. After suffering our first loss to the Maidu Twins and then our second loss to the RW Giants we came back and beat up on the Lakeside Indians a bit. We haven't played a bad game yet, but our two losses showed us all what we need to work on as a team and individually. We are a confident team and can win any game as long as we stay in the game. Next weekend we should be picking up our 14th player and hopefully he will be able to show us a few things we haven't been teaching you guys. Maybe some new drills from RHS baseball will be that little edge we need to all become better ball players. Star testing is this week so we will try not to keep you tied up too late at practice and the game on Thursday.

4/12 - Cruising our way to victory seemed like it was the only thing left to do last night...until the wheels fell off. We played error free baseball until that magical 6th inning where we committed 4 errors. Looking at the stats for the game, 10 runs on 10 hits, we batted .417 as a team and left 7 runners on base. Defense was the key to shutting down the Giants and you all did a fantastic job. Keep up the hard work!

4/10 - With one more practice before our weekend showdown vs. the Roseville East Giants we need to really work on the small ball part of our game. The East Giants beat RW Giants 14-4 in a matchup Wednesday night, so we better prepare. I know you boys can do it and us coaches have every confidence that you will come out on top. This is the "home opener" for us and for many it's the first time playing on Clancy Field so work your nerves out early.  We can expect lot's of aggressive base running, solid hitters and a fairly good pitching staff.

4/5 - With two wins under our belt we seem to be in good shape as a team. We need to continue to work on our fundamentals and getting to know each others playing abilities better. Kid coaching is not frowned upon and is encouraged as long as you are absoultely right that what you are showing your teammate is fundamentally sound. Our biggest test will come this Monday against the RELL Phillies as many of the players on that team were all-stars in the past few years. We have to remain strong if we make an error or strike out at a crucial moment and not let it bother us. We have a huge amount of talent on our team...work together and the end result will not let you down.
