It's a new name for the first year of the combined leagues, but a\ team with a long, great tradition of welcoming new young players into our solid line up of returning players, to build an always competitive team in the Fleet Park Majors division. Expect a BIG year from these Nats!

NORFOLK -- The Naval Base Yankees rolled to a 9-0 victory over the Wards Corner Tigers Wednesday and are 4-0 heading into a showdown with the Cubs Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Andrew Tonra's triple to lead off the first got the ball rolling and the Yankees also got big hits from Harry Porter and Chris Queman. Seth Mednick drove in three runs for the Yankees. Lefthander Sean Franklin, one of the three 10-year-olds on the Yankees, saw his first action on the mound and struck out two and walked one.
