The Detroit Tigers Foundation has awarded the BHLL a grant totaling $6000 to help the league grow and expand. An emphasis of BHLL is growing the number of girls in their Little League Softball division and this grant money will go a long way in helping BHLL promote fast-pitch softball throughout the defined BHLL boundaries. Beginning in January of 2011, BHLL is planning an advertising campaign throughout Southfield offering parents the BHLL option for their sons and daughters.

Rebecca Paryaski, Director of BHLL Softball, is excited about the grant. She stated, “The girl’s softball program has been neglected for too long. These funds will help us promote the softball league to thousands of families with girls that are looking for a fastpitch option.”

The Detroit Tigers organization, its owners, management, players and coaches are committed to providing a caring, enduring presence in our community and believe in the need to invest in our community's future.

The mission of the Detroit Tigers Foundation is to use the game of baseball to enhance the quality of life in our community with a focus on youth, education and recreation. The Detroit Tigers Foundation will aid in the development and funding of innovative programs, including field renovation projects, that reach our community with positive messages and promote the good citizenship embodied in the storied history of the Tigers.
