2006-2007 SLS Select Team/Tournament Travel Policy

This year each team will participate in two local tournaments (within the valley) and 1 limited travel (limited travel means within the state ie: Logan, Ogden, Provo) These will be determined once a team has been formed. Age, level of play/experience and general goal of the team will all play a role in what the team will participate in.
**SLS SELECT TEAMS AND Tournament Travel It is the goal of SLS to make tournament play a positive experience for players and parents for those who would like to participate, yet not require it of those who cannot or would not choose to travel.
**Most competitive players want the added training and competitive play experience during the season yet many may not want to commit to a team because of required travel due to added expense, Sunday play and travel away from home. SLS will not require any player to travel that does not wish to, yet they will still be able to participate in a highly competitive league during the Spring/Fall seasons and winter indoor play. Players will in no way be penalized for not traveling and playing on an SLS Select Team.
To those who are looking for the added experience and exposure that tournament travel/play has to offer. SLS will create Select Teams (SLS Select) Players will be invited to be on SLS Select Teams based on
1-Desire to travel/play
2-Level of commitment (game/practice attendance)
3-Performance (Coachability, desire, behavior etc.)
4-Ability to meet the required travel expense
Players that play on SLS Select Traveling teams will not be required to participate in every traveling tournament. Players/Parents will have the option to participate in those which they desire and can afford.
