The new season is up and running and it promises to be a very special one because at the end of it we'll be celebrating our tenth anniversary - JUNE 3rd 2013.
For some reason The South Wales Girls League delayed the start of the season until mid September which at least gave clubs an extra couple of weeks to get organised but also meant we lost 2 weeks of good weather.
The tigers were all raring to go and results and performances to date have been very encouraging as we still wait to taste the bitter pill of defeat at U. 14's, U. 16's or indeed senior level. All 3 age groups sit in second place in their respective leagues with 100% winning records. Our U. 14's have also progressed to the quarter-finals of The S.W.F.A. Cup following a win last Sunday against Villa Dino in Round 1. Our U. 16's had a bye and also await the Quarter - Final draw. Our seniors beat Cyncoed 3 v 0 in round 1 of The Welsh Cup and now look forward to a trip to Premier League side Caerphilly in Round 2. On the international stage Shauna and Fiona both travelled to North Wales to represent Wales U. 16's against a strong Belgium outfit.
Our younger age groups have also enjoyed a fine start to the campaign although our U. 10's are playing 5 or 6 a side at the moment due to a shortage of numbers which the club is looking to sort out in the coming weeks. With 2 U. 12's teams competing again this season the future still looks strong as to date our Yellows sit top of their league whilst our younger Blues are in mid table. At the end of October the U. 12's leagues will be split into Division 1 and 2 when the real hard work will begin.
Just a mention of this year's Gwent Development Centre which kicks off this week in Newport and Cwmbran with over 20 tigers of all ages having won a place following trials held in September - GOOD LUCK to you all.

U. 12's, 14's & 16's Tuesday 5.30 - 6.30 on Astro Turf @ K.H.S.
U. 10's Wednesday 5.30 - 6.30 Indoors @ Abergavenny Leisure Centre.
