HARTLAND – The Hartland baseball team got a strong pitching performance from Nathan Lohmeier and a pair of home runs from Max Cadman Saturday during a 2-0, 8-3 sweep of Livonia Churchill at Hartland High School. Lohmeier struck out 10 and walked one while tossing a three-hitter in the opener, in which all four of Hartland’s hits were for extra bases. Gary Turnbull broke a scoreless tie with a double in the fourth and Cadman homered in the fifth. “He did a really nice job,” Morrison said of Lohmeier. “His last two starts have been really good. He is consistently getting better.” In the nightcap, the Eagles (15-7) scored five runs in the first, two of them coming on Gary Stokes’ triple. Cadman also homered in that game as well. Brett Oliver hit a triple in each game, and Alex Wagner doubled in both ends of the twin bill. “I was happy to see us pitch good and play good defense,” Morrison said. “Hitting is streaky, and I hope it’s coming around at the right time.”
