HARTLAND – Senior lefthander Alex Wagner tossed a one-hit gem as Hartland’s baseball team opened its season with a 2-0 win over Walled Lake Central on Wednesday. Wagner, a Toledo recruit, walked three and struck out nine Vikings. “Both pitchers threw really well,” Hartland coach Brian Morrison said. “We were just able to get a couple across. They had a couple rallies with walks and sacrifices to get guys in scoring position, but we were able to get out of it.”Catcher Max Cadman drove in both runs for the Eagles, including a two-out knock in the fifth to break a scoreless tie. He gave Hartland an insurance run in the seventh on a sacrifice bunt.
