Rachel Kittaka wins 3200m and 1600m! Anna Parks wins 800m! 4x400m and Weightmens Relay wins!

On Saturday, April 22, 2006, the Northside Womens's Track and Field Team traveled to Eckersal Stadium for the Kenwood Classic. Prior to the meet, David Diaz was officially named by Northside Athletic Director Daisy Simbulan as the new Womens Head Track & Field Coach as replacement for Humberto Guiterrez. Guiterrez spent 6 years at Northside, but left the Track & Field program to become the newest member of the Chicago Police Department. Guiterrez has already set a new Chicago Police Department record for the 1.5 Miles run and will continue to support the Team. At the Kenwood Classic, the Mustangs brought home a Trophy for placing third overall out of 15 schools! In Shot Put, Kaitlin Renkosiak placed 5th overall with a personal best throw of 22'3. Adoara Achufusi placed 6th overall with a personal best throw of 17'0. In exhibition round, Jennifer Mensah threw 14'5. In the Discus, Kaitlin Renkosiak placed 3rd overall with a throw of 55'5. Stephanie Sotomayer threw a personal best 45'7 to place 4th overall. In the Weightmen's 4x100m relay, Kaitlin Renkosiak, Stephanie Sotomayer, Jennifer Mensah, and Adoara Achufusi medaled by placing 1st overall, with a time of 62 seconds! In the High Jump, Julie Bujnowski placed 4th overall with a jump of 4'0. Bujnowski also placed 8th overall in the Long Jump with a jump of 13'6. In the Triple Jump, Maria Torres placed 2nd overall with a jump of 31'5. Torres also placed 4th overall in the Long Jump with a jump of 14'0.75. Maria Zdunek placed 6th overall in the Triple jump with a jump of 23'10. In the 3200m run, Rachel Kittaka won with an outstanding time of 12:48. Julia Shimada placed 4th overall with a time of 14:04. In the 800 Medley Relay, Natalie Hanigan, Maria Torres, Jennifer Kane, and Anna Parks placed 4th overall, with a time of 2:04.34. In the 4x100m Relay, the Mustangs placed 8th overall with a time of 58.21. Natalie Hanigan ran a 14.81 100m split on the first leg of the relay and made a nice exchange to Stephanie Sotomayer. Sotomayer ran a 14.59 100m split on the second leg of the relay. Adaoara Achufusi ran a 13.50 100m split on the third leg of the relay. Maria Zdunek ran a 15.31 100m split on the final leg of the relay. In the 100m Hurdles, Jennifer Kane placed 5th with an outstanding time of 21.32. In the 100m Dash, Maria Zdunek ran a 15.83. Kaitlin Renkosiak ran a 16.15. In the 800m run, Anna Parks won with an outstanding time of 2:47. Jessica Galang ran a 3:21. In the 4x200m Relay, Jennifer Kane ran a 29.24 200m split and made a nice exchange to Maria Torres. Torres ran a 28.22 200m split on the second leg of the relay. Natalie Hanigan ran a 30.54 200m split on the third leg of the relay. Adoara Achufusi anchored the relay, with a 31.00 200m split, for a total time of 1:59.36. It was the fastest 4x200m Relay by Northside this season. In the 400m Dash, Julie Bujnowski placed 3rd overall with a time of 66. Jessica Galang ran an time of 85 seconds. In the 300m Hurdles, Maria Zdunek ran an outstanding time of 64. Senior Monica Wojcik ran a personal best time of 71. In the 1600m Run, Rachel Kittaka won with an outstanding time of 5:58. Julia Shimada placed 4th overall with a time of 6:45. In the 200m Dash, Anna Parks ran a time of 29.66. In the 4x400m Relay, the Mustangs won, with an outstanding time of 4:45.33. Julie Bujnowski ran the first leg of the relay in 66.58. Natalie Hanigan ran the second leg of the relay in 72.06 400m split and made a nice exchange to Rachel Kittaka. Kittaka ran a 75.10 400m split on the third leg of the relay. Anna Parks anchored the relay to victory with a 71.59 400m split. VARSITY POINTS SCORED 1. Rachel Kittaka 22.50 2.
