KING of the QUARTER and LONG JUMP, Saturday, January 19, 2019 at historic Henry Crown Fieldhouse at the University of Chicago

 The entire Marist Track and Field Team will have a 400m Time Trial, Long Jump, and Shot Put Competition on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 6:15 pm - 7:45 pm at historic Henry Crown Field House Indoor Track at the University of Chicago.

 Henry Crown Stadium features an athlete friendly atmosphere, upper deck seating, 200m Indoor Track and has been the host to numerous National meets, and local Championship meets as well. The Varsity letter was invented in the 1890s by Amos Alonzo Stagg at the University of Chicago. The main wall of the stadium contains a list of field house records, which include several Olympians. The first Heisman Trophy winner (1935), Jay Berwanger is still listed on the all-time list for Henry Crown for the 55m Dash. Henry Crown Field house is a Chicago landmark that is rich in Track & Field history.  

 Athletes will meet with the coaching staff at 5:00 pm for heat assignments, at the main entrance of Marist before bus departure to the University of Chicago Indoor Track and Field Stadium. 

 Team Captains will lead the Team on a warm-up run in the Indoor Track & Field Stadium. The Time Trial is MANDATORY. All Athletes must be able to finish a 400m Time Trial to be on the TEAM. Uniforms will NOT be issued to any athletes that miss the Time Trial for any reason. Thanks. 

 The Time Trial will help determine our initial Varsity, Junior Varsity, Sophomore, and Freshman 4x400m Relay Teams.The King of the Quarter, and Long Jump competition gives Marist athletes an appreciation for each others events, and makes the TEAM stronger. 

 The distance runners also benefit from the 400m Time Trial, by learning their maximum quarter speed. With the knowledge of their maximum quarter speed, the coaching staff is able to provide proper racing strategy for the 800m run, and other races. 

 Athletes will meet at the MAIN ENTRANCE of Marist at 5:00 pm for bus departure to historic Henry Crown Field House at the University of Chicago. The Indoor Stadium is located at 5550 S University Ave, Chicago, Illinois.

 A public address announcer will introduce the contestants and announce the results of each 400m heat.
