Earning respect: Collinsville has moved up to fourth in Class 5A despite this being the Cardinals' first year at the second-highest class in softball.

The ranking is a show of faith for the former 4A powers.

"We aren't playing a 5A schedule," said second-year head coach Mike Henry.

"We moved up after we had done our schedule. But we played some 5A and 6A teams in summer league and these 5A schools have a lot of respect for 4A teams. They know if we are winning, we have to be pretty good."

Collinsville boasts a .331 team batting average, led by senior Lindsay Curtis' .492 average. Junior infielder Lacie Cook (Tulsa Eagles Gold)  is hitting .430 and Jessie Henry is batting .400.

Kylie Cole, the pitcher of the year last year in the Tulsa 7 Conference, is back in the circle.
