Welcome

Welcome to the web page for the Litchfield NH 9-year-old All-Stars. We have assembled a great group of kids and are looking forward to some fun in July. As All-Stars, we will be expecting a little more from each of the kids, especially in behavior and attitude on the field. It should be a fun experience for all those involved. Most of these kids will be playing baseball together for many years, so we need to start off their first "travel" experience the correct way. We will be playing at least 11 games in July, more if we count scrimmages and possible playoff appearances. The team has been entered into tournaments at Lowell (Highlands), Chelmsford, and Youngsville. Game schedules and scores have been upated and posted....check it out! Litchfield U9 All-Stars Win First 3 in Lowell to make Championship Game!!! Check out "My Site News" for game highlights from the tournament. In Chelmsford the U9 All-Stars are currently 2-0, with wins over Hollis and the Chelmsford B team. The first game against Hollis had some impressive pitching by Kyle I and Connor S. Litchfield score 5 in the 5th, powered by doubles from Christian G and Connor S, and singles from Jason F, Kody C and Kyle I. The 2nd game against Chelmsford also included good pitching performances but Litchfield did not put the game out of reach until they scored 10-runs in the 5th and 6th innings. Tim D (double) and Trevor D safely reached base on all four of their plate appearances and Eric D, Connor S (triple) and Chris G (2 hits) reached 3 times each. Defensive highlights were in the 5th with diving catches by Keenan W and Trevor D. In the Youngsville tournament the U9 All-Stars are currently 3-1. In our first Youngsville game we experienced only our 2nd loss of the season, this one coming from a strong Plaistow team. The 8-6 game was close but Litchfield could not turn base-runners in the 5th and 6th into runs. Pitchers Christian G and Kyle I combined to allow no Plaistow runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th innings, giving Litchfield a chance to win the game. However, Litchfield was only able to produce 4 hits all game, doubles coming from Chris G and Kyle I. and singles from Shane N and Christian G. In the 2nd Youngsville game Litchfield squared-off against a team from Lowell. The game was over in the first inning, when 12 Litchfield runs crossed home plate. Litchfield was able to pitch 5 different kids during the game (Eric D, Shane N, Tim D, Kody C and Connor S) and eventually won the game 14-6. Joe B, Eric D, and Chris G all had multiple base hits. Litchfield's 3rd game was against a stronger Portsmouth team. After 4 inning Litchfield was down 2-1, but another 5 run 5th inning allowed Litchfield to win the game with a final score of 8-3. Litchfield hit the ball hard all game. Chris G earned 3 singles, Christian G and Keenan W each tripled and Kody C added a double and a single. In the last game before the playoffs Litchfield squared-off against Youngsville. The 2 teams were evenly matched, but Litchfield left the field with a 9-8 nail-biting victory. Litchfield started the game with an 8-run ist inning, fuled by base hits from Shane N, Kyle I, Chris G, Cody C, Tim D (double), and Keenan W. Litchfield's pitching held Youngsville to only 3 runs over the first 5 innings, supported by some nice defense (especially an inning-ending assist from Trevor D in left-filed to get a runner at the plate). In the 6th, Litchfield would get the eventual game-winning run off an RBI from Chris G. Younsville would score 5 in the 6th inning on some nice hits, but Connor S pitched in relief to strike-out 2 of the 3 batters he faced to seal the game.
