PLAYER EJECTIONS (NEW ASA 2014 RULE)

Reminder - NEW 2014 ASA Rule for Player Ejections:

If a team starts with a set amount of players & a player gets ejected (for any reason) you MUST have a substitute for the ejected player or your team will forfeit the game regardless to the number of players you have in the field.

Please refer to Player Conduct for grounds of ejections.


Remember "IF" you start a game with 8 players you add up to 10 players at any time during the game. "IF" you start with 10 players you can add up to 12 players at any  time during the game.

PLAYER CONDUCT

Listed below are Rules regarding Player Conduct in the HMSL. Umpires will also be held to the same standards as the Players.

Please note these are guidelines & are subject to change!

RULE 1 - Any player that fails to comply with an umpire’s directions shall be subject to ejection at the umpire’s discretion. Any player receiving 3 reported ejections shall be suspended from league play for the remainder of the season. 

RULE 2 - Any player engaging in the use of ANY foul, vulgar or degrading language and/or harassing another player, fan or umpire shall be subject to ejection at the umpire’s discretion. NO EXCEPTIONS! (Penalty: Ejected for the remainder of that game plus suspended for the following game).

RULE 3
- Any player who threatens and/or comes in physical contact with another player, fan or umpire shall be immediately ejected. NO EXCEPTIONS! (Penalty: 1 game to remainder of the season & may also result in Legal Action).
 

RULE 4 - Respect the umpire and refrain from addressing them or commenting on their decisions during the game. If there is any disagreement with an umpire, it shall be made by the team’s manager or captain.

RULE 5 - If a player is ejected, and his ejection is not reported to the league by the umpire, no further action can be taken against him. 

RULE 6 - Any player ejected by the umpire for any other reason shall be ejected for the remainder of that game plus suspended for the following game. NO EXCEPTIONS! 

RULE 7 - All ejected players must leave the playing field immediately upon the ejection, any grievance they may have will be taken up with the league’s grievance committee at a later time. 

RULE 8 - Ejected players or their manager must identify the player(s) who have been ejected. Failure to do so will result in a forfeit and further league action. 

RULE 9 - Severity of penalties and/or fines for ejections shall be decided and handed out by the League’s Grievance Committee within 7 days after being notified of the incident. 

RULE 10 - Players will be responsible for any and all damages that they may cause to Town Property. Player will be suspended until repairs have been made and paid for by that player.  

RULE 11
- Both players and umpires are required to treat each other with respect and courtesy.  Verbal threats made against an umpire are taken seriously and is prohibited. Threatening an umpire with violence will cause the player to be ejected from the game. The player may also be suspended from league play for the remainder of the season or for a period of the determined by the Grievance Committee. Physically assaulting an umpire will result in a player suspension from league play for the remainder of the season & may also result in Legal Action.

RULE 12
- Any Team Fans antagonizing, instigating and/or harassing any players, spectators or umpires during any game will be subject to ejection from the playing field and/or Town Property. Should an individual and/or individuals not abide by the ejection the HPD will be notified. Possible forfeits may be levied on the team the individual and/or individual supports.  

    RULE 13 - There is NO SMOKING on Town Property - This applies to ALL Players, Umpires & Fans!
